New Patients
We are currently accepting new patients for thyroid and parathyroid evaluation. You may elect to come to us on your own or you may be referred by another physician. Some insurance companies require authorization from your primary care provider before the evaluation process begins. Our staff carefully reviews all the medical information you provide in order to determine the severity of your condition and urgency at which the appointment must be scheduled. We also use this information to determine which procedures, such as ultrasound or biopsy, may be necessary as part of your initial visit. It is therefore important for patients to assist in gathering pertinent medical records and results in order to facilitate this process.

In most but not all cases, new patients will first be seen by our physician assistant, Dr. Melissa Murfin, who will take a complete medical history and physical, then order appropriate testing to complete the evaluation. A follow-up visit is made with Dr. Lupo to interpret the testing, discuss the diagnosis and present treatment options based on your individual case. Patients with known thyroid nodules requiring biopsy will have their initial new patient visit with Dr. Lupo.

Cancellation Policy
Please give others who are on our cancellation wait list the courtesy of advanced notice if you are unable to make your scheduled appointment. Kindly provide 24 hour notification of cancellation. There is a $75 no-show fee for a return visit and a $150 no-show fee for a new patient visit. To avoid cancellations and no-shows, we call in advance to remind you of your appointment.
